For all the men in the whole world will some day have the name of Cuchulain in their mouths.
dont get it twisted. Fearless is jet's supposed last "wushu" martial arts film..which refers to the kind of film like once upon a time in china, fong sai yuk (the legend), etc where its set in ancient china. he still intends on starring in action films like Danny the Dog (unleashed), kiss of the dragon, etc, which are set in the modern day and feature a different kind of action than his wushu movies. hes actually working on an american movie with Jason Statham (the transporter 1 and 2) choreographed by Corey Yuen (transporter, kiss of the dragon) and directed by phillip atwell (music video director...kinda worried about this). the film is titled 'Rogue'. theres even a rumour circulating that he'll star in a movie directed by Yuen Woo Ping that is set in ancient china..so i dont kno if fearless truly is his last wushu film.
anyways, back to Huo Yuan Jia aka Fearless...its a fantastic film. i'll even go as far as say its on par with the once upon a time in china films which were made 14 years earlier. (i think i like fearless more personally). the fight scenes choreographed by martial arts maestro Yuen Woo Ping are real tight, as expected, and the script, story and direction are all very intelligent and exceptionally presented. u actually care about the story and characters which is a great thing in a martial arts movie. jet's been on quite a roll as of late, his last 3 or 4 flix have been exceptional (hero, danny the dog, fearless).
i'd give it a 9/10
hope that helps.
Yeah man, there're some class fights on it

I really really want to see this, I have a sick collection of kung fu movies and I have to say my favourate is Once apon a time in china 1&2 (both are great) so Im looking forward to seeing Jet li back in that period setting(always was my favourate)

I'm kinda looking forward to seeing what a music video director can do with movies. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing Hype direct another full-feature.....

beware...im not sure how serious u take ur movies (purist mentalities?), but if ur a big big kung fu purist, u should know that theres a VERY good chance that when the film makes it stateside, there will be some sort of cut/re-edit...it has happened to virtually EVERY martial arts film that has been released in the states. ie cut footage, rescored audio, etc. but thats just speculation for now. but i do know that when Tom Yum Goong comes out, the Weinstein Brothers were talking about cutting A LOT of footage out and toning down some of the violence a bit.

from what i read, Hype Williams is going to direct a sequel to Belly (starring Nas, DMX) called Beast (i think, i'll have to check on that). from the article i read online, Nas and DMX will return as well.
Im glad I live in the uk, there not so uptight about censorship here, for the most part we always get the uncut shit.

did you watch it tauro?
jet li still got his fighting chops, great movie but badly edited
i thought the editing was great...what parts did u think were poorly edited?
Yes I did but even though I had it on my computer I decided to watch it in the cinema first cos I wanted to experience it properly.Originally Posted by eVoL
Movie was great, I think it was a throw back to his early ninties movies which I loved and I think this was a great send off for Jet Li in terms of that classic kung fu style.
props for the link up download, it was much appreciated evol, much respect from me.

I too thought there was some dodgy editing in some of the fight sequences, it would sometimes jump from one movement to the next with no follow through.Originally Posted by PuNcH_iN_PuNcH_OuT
Did anyone else notice this?
