I think PLO is basing that statement on the fact that the US womens side had a striker that scored some record number of goals, and were a more successful team than their male counterparts (they really do suck that bad). But then, when you compare Mia Hamm to Pelé..Well, need I say more?

the american mens team is over hyped but still decent.
regaurdless the womans national team scrimages the ODP (Olympic Development Program, unless your from the states and into soccer you probably dont know what it is. bascially there are 50 state team 5-8 regional teams (not really sure on that number) and then finally a national team for every age group up until 19, it helps define players for college coachs and for the national squad) boys under 15 and 16 national ODP teams. they loose regularly. they dont want to play any ages higher because they arent competative because the guys just get faster and stronger and muscles those hoes.
just because the womans national team is good on the womans stage has no barring on how they would compete with a mens national team reguardless of how good they are. so dont flap the jaws unless you know what your talking about.
