Also, the name 'Ghost Dog' ...if you look it up and see how in the movie a dog is staring at the main character with no emotional expression at too different times...that is some symbolic shit. It foreshadows the main characters demise.

Also, when the icecream man was reading that book about bears, he was describing Ghost dog's characteristics.
ALso, how Ghost Dog gives the book, Rashomon, to Pearline and she says it's about people seeing the same event with different perspectives. See how that relates to the story of how Louie saved Ghost. Louie also tells that story and gives a different account. Also, relate that book to how different characters in the movie live their lives thru different perspectives and cultures.
There is just so much...
I got the feeling that the movie is even deeper than that - that to understand it even deeper, we should read those books mentioned in the movie. I just couldn't help but think that.
I have both version of the Hagakure, if your into that type of stuff I'd recommend it but if your not really in the know of the samurai it might go over your head and be a bit boring.
a movie about some black guy who can wield a sword, with the soundtrack by RZA, pretty obvious everyone here would jizz their pants over this one
the part where he shoots the dude that was listening to P.E. through the sink was one of the sickest kill off scene ive seen in movies..lol
I loved the movie and I agree with FMJ that this movie is very deep and meaningful...however I cant enjoy it that much due to the fact that itīs basically the same movie as " le samourai" with alain delon, only with a black samurai and with other symbols that represent the same as the original. Le samourai is a famous classic french Film-Noir Movie that deals with the loneliness of a killer who follows the rules of the samurai.
Oh, for real.
I would like to see that!
