Boring album. I like Tragedy's lyrics but the beats sucked on this album.

it doesn't come close to his 2 first albums (when he was still down with the Juice crew and Marley Marl) or The War Report but it's a decent album with some really good tracks. "Permanently Scarred" is one of the best hip-hop songs I've ever heard, those lyrics are deep and the beat gets me every time..

    blood type
    against all odds
    they forced my hand

but the bad songs are pretty bad...worth coppin for the joints above though

    7.5/10

pretty dope album but i feel it could have been better, the first half of the LP is really strong with banger after banger (from "Against All Odds" to "Permanently Scarred"). after that many of the beats starts sounding boring and lyrically Tragedy ain't reinventing his subject matter, plus the amount of guests that could have came stronger is large. on the second half i'm really feeling "Message to Killa Black" and "Blood Type" though, "In Memory Of" is dope too and a couple of others.

I would say it's about a 7/10 release as well, it could have been better if he went after producers he worked with before like K-Def, Marley Marl, Carlos Broady/Nashiem Myrick, Ayatollah, Buckwild, Lord Finesse and Large Professor.

This joint dropped fifteen years ago today. This album debuted his harder edge and continued the Queensbridge legacy. Ayatollah was on here, he produced Lift Ya Glass..

i guess he figured Calm Down was a bit too old at the time.. it was originally supposed to be on The War Report back in '97
