How can a movie bite off a game series that didnt even come out yet. Unless you are talking about the origianl metal gear for nes, maybe there is speculation, but the film came out first anyway, so maybe the game rips the movie. So, please get your info straight and make some clarifications for us. Because I think you are wrong.

well, I read somewhere that the model for Snake back in the day wasn't Kurt Russell or anywhere remotely related to Escape From NY, the model for snake for the old school MGS was that guy who played "Kyle Reese" in The Terminator, Michael Baines, u make the comparison:

that dude also played in Navy Seals (obviously from the pic) and he played Corporal Hicks in Aliens as well.........as far as the relation between Solid Snake and Snake Pliskin, the only close reference I 've seen was in MGS2 when Raiden gets help from Solid Snake not knowing who he is, and Solid Snake responding, "call me Pliskin"

That box pic was american made, it was not the cover of the game that came out in japan, meaning that was not the creators intention to make him look like Michael Bein.

Also I've read in a few interviews with Hideo Kojima that he was heavily influenced by escape from ny especially regarding the character of snake although he did say that he imagined a young Christopher Walken in the role as Snake.

Escape from NY is ill, one of the greatest old school movies there is. Escape from LA wasn't too bad either. I dont think its biting, when Kojima has said hes borrowed many things off Escape from NY. Its clear he took the main charecter too.
