I notice some folks on here commenting on affirmative action. I think everyone should do their research before commenting. Check the statistics on how many white women compared to blacks benefit from affirmative action, you might get an eye opener. Affirmative action is just a "buzz word" nowadays. Most companies(especially financial firms, marketing firms, etc.) jump at the chance to hire blacks based on the fact that it taps into a whole new market for them. With the growing black middle class, there is a lot of purchasing power within the community. Anyone who still complains about "affirmative action" needs to look up statistics. How do you know these people are not qualified?

People should be hired based on their qualities, regardless of their race or gender. If you're not fit for the job, tough luck. If I were a heart patient ready for surgery, I'd rather be operated by someone who is hired for his skills and not because the hospital wants to be hip.

white supremacy is not the same as misunderstanding where somebody is coming from
a white supremacist would need to be fully aware of the trials and tribulations of other people and be consciously seeking to perpetuate that process

affirmative action is misguided. i know that blacks are shit on and live in ghettos and have less chance of success. something needs to be done, yet this isnt the right avenue. a start would be universal health care and free college for everyone
