The 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers were voted as the best team in the History of College football, with the 1971 Cornhuskers coming in 2nd place. Thoughs, reactions, Eric Unseen going to bring up a Texas team??

its 95 Nebraska...
93 fsu??? nebraska shuda beat them that year but of an obvious missed call by the refs that the announcers kept pointing out, kind of like ou oregon this year... u obviously dont watch college football cuz thats not even 1 of the arguable teams
62-24 over the Florida Gators for the National Championship. When was the last time a team was out of the title game so fast? (2001 Nebraska who got smoked by Miami but that's besides the point) I was 8 years old that year and for a while growing up I though 50 point wins were commonplace as they happened almost weekly for a few years in Nebraska.
1993 FSU had a bad ass team...
Charlie Ward
Warrick Dunn
Derrick Brooks
Pooh Bear Williams
Zack Crockett
Peter Boulware..
Arguable teams? Everything is arguable when something's being debated, dur.
I think had USC beat Texas last year, there dynasty would be viewed as the greatest off all time,
But they got beat by the real greatest team of all time^ haha, on the real I'm not up on enough college football history to have a real oppinion on this but who here really would bet money against Vince Young in a big game? Not me, Drew's predictions, are ofcourse, correct.

After watching the show on ESPN Classic i tend to agree with ESPN. The Cornhusker teams were fucking unbeatable with Osbourne at the helm. All the teams that have been mentioned in this thread would probably spit a 10 game series, but i think Nebraska would go 7-3 or 8-2.
3 reasons=
1. Closest game in 1995= 14 points
2. Won their bowl game 62-24 over florida
3. #1 in offense averaging 556 yards and 52 ppg.......................
and who won the Heisman that year u ask??????????
Eddie George from THEEEE Ohio State University. Our 6th of 7 and the home of the soon-to-be 2006 National Champions (ahhhh a shameless plug from the Liquidswordsman)
So i hate to EVER say that Nebraska had the greatest team, but i do believe they deserve this mark! Where are the Wu-Tang Nebraska fans??????????? Their has to be 1 or 2 right?

and on top of the guy in front of me posts in #2, that bowl game was the national championship
and tommie frazier shud have won the heisman, as everybody knew after the bowls
eddie george was a damm good running back
but my little heart cried inside of my Nebraska jacket (yes i had the same one Tom Osborne wore)
I actually got to meet Touchdown Tommy once, Wished him my best, But I guess due to his blood clots he wasn't picked up in the draft, played some in canada than moved back here to coach a NAIA football team which he got fired from last year. Let's just say Eddie's professional career was a little more sucessful.
I'm the biggest florida fan, and that 95 Nebraska team was easily the best team ever. Florida was so fucking good that year, and the way Nebraska killed them, just wow. 38 point average margin of victory, 400 yards rushing a game, just forget it. 01 Miami was good, but they arent touchin 95 Nebraska
