    Default GZA's verse on "Triumph."

Aiight, this has always pissed me off. On the Wu song called "Triumph," GZA says the line "Those who went back received penalties for the axe."
It's not "THE AXE!!" It's "Their acts." "The axe" makes absolutley no sense at all. He says it in slang so it sounds like "the axe." The phrase should be:

"Those who went back received penalties for their acts." It makes perfect sense like that.

Even in the Wu-Tang Manual book by the RZA, it says it's "The AXE." Why?!!! It's wrong! It's important to see this because that simple word completely changes the entire meaning of that lyric.....It pisses me off!

I personally prefer with "Those who went back received penalties for their acts."

However, I do know that on the Cuban Linx album, Gza also goes "my sword is an axe it's invisible like dope pheene tracks." So it could mean those who went back on their word recieved penalties for their axe meaning tongue. Axe symbolic to the tongue, cause of that quote on Cuban Linx: "my sword is an axe it's invisible like dope pheene tracks" -Gza

Aiight, this has always pissed me off. On the Wu song called "Guillotine," GZA says the line "my sword is an axe it's invisible like dope pheene tracks"
It's not "PHEENE" It's "fiend" "Pheene" makes absolutley no sense at all. He says it in slang so it sounds like "fiend" The phrase should be:

"...like dope fiend tracks." It makes perfect sense like that.

You almost got me cause I didn't see Haha, just playin', man.

And confusing asses for ashes, LOl.

But doesn't fiend and pheene basically mean the same thing anyways, only different spelling, right ?

hmm, this might be lyric interpretation, but because of ive seen it in this topic, i'm gonna ask it...

what does GZA mean when he says "my sword is an axe, invisible, like dope fiend tracks"

    ????? i have no clue...

    peace!
Shaolin shadowboxin' and the wu-tang swordstyle...
If what you say is true...
The shaolin and the wu-tang could be dangerous!
En garde, I'll let you try my wu-tang style...

most dope fiends keep their "track marks" hidden...gza's sword/axe is kept hidden/invisible

I think "the axe" refers to brutalities since the verse is about Vietnam.

Why are you worried so much about what exactly he is saying if you get the meaning?

Oh yeah, good point on the axe/acts...paced/paste thing. If you say the words outloud they sound the exact same. So, yeah...take it from there.
