The N.i.t. Tournament
What is the point of this I mean what do u get if u win to say u are the 66th best team in college basketball that is like the nba having a playoff to see who the 17th best team is. u still were not good enough to make it to the tournament that counts

btw nba has 30 teams 16 of which make the playoffs
the ncaa division 1 has over 300 teams. which playoff system do you think is more watered down?
and your statement that the winner of this tourny is the 66th best team is ridiculous, the winner of this tourny could beat 80% of the ncaa field

I agree that the nit is pointless why don't they just expand the field to fit more teams. I know that a lot of teams that are in the nit could have made the tournament

A Syracuse/FSU Finals would be worth watching, believe that.
its still a trophy for the school. you know most teams do not have a realistic shot at winning the NCAA tourny anyways, atleast some smaller school or mid major could put something in their trophy case. it also lets their seniors get a couple more games in too.

i will say this there are some schools in the nit who would crush some schools in the ncaa tournament and it does help show case some people who are going to the nba
If nobody cared about the NIT, it would do really bad in the ratings, and I doubt they would continue having it on TV. Or just cancel it all together. So there must be some people out there that care about it.
I'm not trying to put down the women's NCAA, but I bet more people watch the men's NIT, then watch the women's NCCA tournament. Something I didn't know is that the women have an NIT tournament also? I don't think they put any of those games on ESPN.
