I just learned that Rodriguez wants to make Machete a straight to DVD release by the time Grindhouse is out on DVD. Both movies aren't for everyone. I went with some friends, and they hated the rodriquez joint but liked QT's movie.

In my opinion, Planet terror is fucking genius.

In the QT interview I read, their might be more Grind House flix every few years with different directors like Eli Roth.

I think they should have had Death Proof before planet Terror, Tarantino made a much slower paced film than Planet Terror and I think that was a bad combination for audiences. PT was action packed constantly trying to shock and excite you, while Death Proof was giving you great shots, dialogue and plot just to give you a good healthy movie experience. I knew from the trailer's that DP was going to be much slower than Planet Terror, but personally I preferred it over PT just because I guess I'm a Tarantino fan.

All in all, I loved the entire thing, there wasn't a moment I wasn't entertained. Just know that Death Proof isn't another Planet Terror.

They couln't show the Death Proof first, because Planet terror wasn't for everyone's tastes, and they might of walked right out of the theatre five minutes into PT if there wasn't a Teratino flick to keep them there.
