Written by the master swordsman and undefeated samurai Miyamoto Musashi in 1643, 'The Book of Five Rings' has become a classic on strategy and confrontation. Written not only for martial artists but for leaders in all professions, the book analyses the process of struggle and mastery over conflict that underlies every level of human interaction. I prefer it to Sun Tzu's Art of War.
Also try The Hermetica: The Lost Wisdom of the Pharaohs
and The Prophet by Kahil Gibran

Read Art of War by Sun Tzu good book
Mumia Abu-Jamal Live from Death Row was a well-written excellent read.
Aristotle “Politics” very informative on government issues
I am currently reading The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli.
Another book to check out is "Think" by Simon Blackburn a compelling introduction to philosophy. Also, check out this website called www.online-literature.com. It has tons of resources, very informative all I do is copy and paste books right into my Microsoft Word for free.
