Default That time of the year again.. (NBA PLAYOFF THREAD)

    YO, WHAT's POPPING?
    WHERE MY BALLERS AT?

The official NBA Playoff thread has no been opened up on the masses by the evil mind of DK.

Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat, First Round from Chicago, Ill.

    Saturday, 3 PM on ABCizzle.

Now we can all agree the Heat are going to repeat. Now that we've got that out the way... I am really looking forward to seeing Udonis Haslem vs. Tyrus Thomas for probably 6/7 games. Haslem is known, if anything, for his defense in the Finals on Dirk. He's a good defender, I wouldn't say lock-down, but he should get the start on Thomas and I will be looking for U-D to shut down some of Thomas explosiveness. The Heat are a banged up team, but getting Kapono and Wade back should prove to be the backbreaker for Chicago in this round. Shaq looks to be dominant against Ben Wallace, which he has been in the past against Detroit. This is the matchup I think all TRUE Heat fans want to see. Chicago punked us game one of the regular season and people thought that'd be their trademark all year. Well, the Bulls' fast-fire dwindled but their still a force to wreckon with.. this will be a great set of games. Classic East Coast ball right here.

Phoenix Suns vs. L.A. Lakers, First Round from Phoenix, Ariz.
    Sunday, 3 PM on ABCizzle.

Deja Vu? What is going on here? The two best matchups in the first round are rematches of last year! Woooowww! This is my matchup to watch in the West. Kobe has been fire all year and I know he's ready to win at least 2/3 games for his team. Weather the rest of the Lakers can put something behind Kobe is on them. I don't think Bynum will be a match for Stoudamire, but I've been wrong before. Bynum has the talent, but does he have the ferocity to REALLY match Amare in the paint? Lakers have some sharp shooters like Cook and Radmanovic and if they catch hot in any game, watch out. Lamaar Odom will be the Wild Card in this series. If he can play good and assist Kobe in the scoring, and other stats, I honestly think the Lakers can upset Phoenix in the first round.

    Other Predictions:

NJN vs. TOR: Nets in 6.
ORL vs. DET: Pistons in 5.
UTA vs. HOU: Rockets in 7.
WAS vs. CLE: Cavs in 4.
DEN vs. SAS: Nuggets in 6.
GSW vs. DAL: Mavs in 5.

Other than Heat/Bulls, Lakers/Suns.. I am really looking forward to seeing what Denver has. They now get to shine in the playoffs and show how big a move A.I. was.

Utah, Rockets could be a great battle. And I think the Nets do knock off Toronto.

Miami steps up under pressure. This will be an interesting match up. Is Shaq playing? Has DWade returned? Chicago has won all the games with Miami this year. Hmm, I'll go with Chicago for this series.

The Suns will tire the Lakers out and possibly sweep. Amare has been a foul machine lately though. Of course I want to see Kobe play, but unfortunately, I don't think his team will move on.

NJN vs. TOR: Nets in 6.
ORL vs. DET: Pistons in 5.
UTA vs. HOU: Rockets in 7.
WAS vs. CLE: Cavs in 4.
DEN vs. SAS: Nuggets in 6.
GSW vs. DAL: Mavs in 5.
This looks ok. Utah is tough and Houston shows signs of weakness most of the time.

It would be good to see Denver go past the first round for a change.

the lakers will lose in 6. suns have 2 many weapons. kobe and odom aint enuff. face it lakers suck. they are lucky enuff to be in the playoffs. the nuggets are first round losers. carmelo and iverson can not outsmart the spurs defense. The rockets will beat the jazz in 6. the bulls will beat the heat.
i really hope that chris webber wanting to win his first ever nba title jinxs the pitsons. NBA champs will be the spurs, suns, raptors , nets or bulls.

    I hate basketball.

But I want the Raps to knock out the Nets. I think there's a good chance that could happen. Except both teams were pretty shitty in their first game.

    No-Duh statement of the day:
    The Lakers suck without Kobe.

These guys, behind Kobe, were doing the Suns in... Kobe hit like 5 3's in a row at the end of the half and then when he starts distributing the ball more, the Lakers fall apart. when he's on the bench, the Lakers give up mad points. Kwame Brown is horrible, he is the anti-team player and when he fucks up he blames others.. Andrew Bynum doesn't even jump when Barbosa flies to the basket.. Lakers may not even win a game in this series after what today showed..

And the Bulls got lucky, man... the Heat didn't look to be up for that game until the last 4/5 minutes.. if anything, the Bulls woke up the sleeping giant by clinging on to that late lead.

That Spurs/Nuggets game tonight is going to be awesome.. I say the over will be 200+ with both teams going over the century mark.

And I said; the Raptors are PRETENDERS.

utah gave it away in the 3rd last night real shame cause they could have taken away houstons homecourt advantage.
and the lakers well, without kobe i dread to think where they will be the suns could take the series 4-0 unless kobe scores 50 a game.
denver spurs should be some game, i expect the spurs to win but with the way AI and Melo are playing i wont be surprised by a denver win.

golden state and denver winning made the playoffs so much better. dallas and san antonio cannot go out in the first round it would be an embarassment.
