Question racism - thoughts, comments, reflections

I think everyone can agree the racism is a negative aspect of society. But I was wondering how people feel about using usually racist words in slang. Such as: nigga, chink, wop, etc. I know this is a hip hop forum and Wu lyrics will contain this type of stuff. However, how is this to be seen when different races are referring to each other, when does it cross the line?

Interesting, any black man will get offended if called "nigger" but whites will rarely be offended with "cracker".

    Weird.

what pac says summed it up beautifully for me NIGGA is different form NIGGER
nigga stands for (never ignorant gettin goals acomplished) i like that motto and how he used it...but on the other hand it still derived from a highly negative word so iam 50/50 on the used of the word nigga......nigger on the other hand is totally unexceptable

I think trying to make the n word a positive made things worse in many ways.

Because for us white folks it has no bearing on our history or how people actually view us. Black people live in a white society, so when they're called "nigger" by a white person it not only reminds them of their history in this country, but also how they're always going to be marginalized in America.

Also, white people don't look at all other White people as brethren like Blacks do. I as an Italian would feel as sense of kinship with fellow Italians, but I wouldn't with someone of, say, Anglo-Saxon descent. I mean we're both white, but there's no connection there.

i think its ridiculous that when a black person says cracker, no one cares, but when a white dude says the "n" word, everyone is on their ass about it. it aint alright for a white person to say that, but i also think it aint right for a black person to say cracker

so, if someone calls you "nigga" in the street, you stop and ask for spelling before getting offended?

What if someone said, "He's my nigga"

That could mean in an ownership sorta way, like slavery.

Or it could mean "He's my boy"

Do you ask for spelling then?
