    Default Getting Sick Of Music...

Or the music industry..the blatent commercialism and all the marketing. It doesn't even pack the same punch. Hip hop is everywhere and its losing its impact. No one wants to be honest and say sht is terrible anymore. Everyone gets a pass for just 'making moves'. Nobody has a respect for the art of it anymore. I don't know, maybe I'm buggin..

just look to the past and also look at the talented artist from the 50's,60's, and 70's that hip hop producers sampled from.

I've lost intrest in hiphop in general.I can still get excited for say the new Wu album but other than that, I've steered clear of hiphop lately.

co sign...I listen to strictly oldies in the V..old soul and R&B..I just gotta say to cats saying stop looking to TV and whtaever whatever..I don't look to that shit pa, and just music as a whole whether it be underground, mainstream heavy metal or whatever just does'nt have the same wallop as it once did to me. I remember everything from minor threat to new edition to bad brains to NWA in my youth fam, all genres....sht was just better and more purer in its intentions back then. Quality has fallen off but thats not even my main complaint..I used to think music was the most important sht in the world but lately I feel it has an overexaggerated importance...and don't even get me started on how hip hop has fallen the fck off....

Can't stand most of the music too. Can digg some electro tracks every now and then. Just for the fun of it, and not pretending to be somethign bigger or carrying false values.

^^ thats it right there ... look for the original shit ... whatever genre you like other than hip hop that 3 decade span is the original catalyst for todays music ... and look for either the original hip hop or like crass said ... real underground ... if you search enough you find the best gems in the undergroun ... like buried treasures and shit ... if you look deep enough you will be rewarded ...

I simply just don't turn the radio on ever or watch music videos on TV. I do my own browsing on Amazon or whatever and it branches out from one artist to another. The way I discoverd The Sun Rises in the East and Livin' Proof was simply because I liked Premo and I searched for some other shit he produced then WHAM i got a bunch of new albums to listen to. Nobody around my way listens to the same shit as me so there's no word of mouth around here, it's up to myself to discover new music.

I find that's the easiest way to not get choked about how brutal the industry/current hip hop really is.

I listen to a lot of internet radio stations and every now and then I find a new favourite artist.

Right now, Camera Obscura is the only thing I listen to, besides Project Pat of course.
