I firmly believe Max can win the title, multiple times. He's still very young.

He needs a MUCH better engine. I think Max is more talented in any case.

Well if you give anyone a good car they can win. The Mercedes is still by far the best car in the paddock, so much faster than the rest. Most races they weren't even using full power, they were able to save their engines and keep the car going at the end of the season. Unlike Ferrari who had to get the most out of their car early on which resulted in reliability issues at the end of the season.

Red Bull won't be any better next season as their engine is still shite. Ferrari might improve but their reliability and race strategy was off this season. However much I like Kimi he should retire as he was nowhere near Vettel this season. Ideally Ricciardo should replace him at Ferrari but Vettel won't have a teammate who will steal the spotlight away from him back in Italy. They shouldn't have extended Vettel's contract and just let him sign for Mercedes.

As for Max, he got to stop crashing first. Was really impressed with Ocon this year as well, outshined Perez.

Not necessarily anyone with a good car will win; Bottas ain’t winning shit any time soon. RedBull is going nowhere and Riccairdo needs to get out.

btw they are gonna install a budget cap in F1 in 2021 and change the rules again in 2022, 'to make the sport more spectacular'

It's quite easy to make the sport more spectacular and it's to decrease Aero, make the cars more slippery. The cars today are just nailed to the circuit. The engineers are getting better and working round restrictions. They just need to reduce downforce and have the drivers struggle a bit. The new regulations in 2022 will do this but they also increase the rim size. Bigger rims means the cars will still have more grip, so they are decreasing aero but increasing mechanical grip. It's bizarre.

Also add more variables, refuelling needs to come back. Everyone is on the same damn strategy every race. It would be more interesting to see the front guys drive on full tanks of fuel, while the ones at the back go light in a bid to go faster.

F1 allowed Mercedes to be dominant for far too long. Ferrari won 5 titles from 2000-2004, they made sure to change regulation to stop them in 2005. They have allowed Merc to be sometimes a second faster than everyone else for 7 years now. Next year it will still be the same. They just did this to appease Mercedes as they would have bailed out of F1 if they weren't successful. Once Rosberg retired it all became a bit too easy for Lewis because Bottas is just shit. Atleast Niko could challenge Lewis. F1's always been about the dominant car but the best era's always had teammates go at each other.

Max Verstappen dethroned Lewis Hamilton with an assist from crash test dummie Latifi and the safety car

Still, 10 races won versus 8 for Lewis, you can't say he stole the title. Especially with everything that went down in the penultimate race

I see Lewis Hamilton still taking that 8th title home in the near future, next year or the year after maybe

One of the most exciting last 5 laps in F1 history. The race was over I mean the Red Bull just couldn't keep up with the Merc, even on worn tyres the Merc was clearly faster. It took a crash and a odd decision to turn the tide. The British press is furious but I can understand the reasoning behind the FIA's decision. They are allowed at times to bend the rules which they do often but it's just inconsistent. Don't know if they've released an explanation regarding the decision but if they haven't they should.

Max does deserve it I mean he did get shunted off twice by Mercs in consecutive races. This is what F1 is about, when it's competitive with 2 teams fighting it out it's good. F1 shouldn't allow certain cars to be a second faster. They changed the rules drastically back in 2005 to stop Ferrari. They should've done the same to Merc 3-4 years ago.
