Fractured band relationships (romantic and professional) and a shitload of coke. That's pretty much what went into this one. A strange one to buy if you've never given it a listen, and certainly pretty damaging to most people's credibility.
But it's all about music, not looking cool, dickheads.
The song 'Oh Daddy' has a pretty dope beat (funnily enough for AOR), and the vocals and downbeat vibe give of a quality that Air may or may not have borrowed from later on. There's stuff in here that really sounds like young love, and other stuff that sounds precisely like young love gone wrong. 'Second Hand News' is the good 3 months into a relationship where you're fucking and laughing all the time, the rest sort of winds through emotions (no emo) from contempt (Go your Own way) back to lust (You make lovin Fun) and down into the depths of that 'Daddy' joint. A song like 'Don't Stop' is kind of hopeful in a lot of ways, the chorus being the obvious one (good one, dude.).
Good for fans of quality female vocals, as Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie were at the top of their game. Even though some of the music might strike you as corny upon listening, beyond that is deep production, and some finely crafted songs.
Listen to it, for fuck's sake. My Mum hooked me up.
