Do you think human kind is better off with/without Religion?
Share your thoughts. I personally believe that religion provides a strong moral basis for human civilizations. In ancient times it was used as a control device but it did establish the most prolific. In modern times it guides some to a goal whether it be misguided or not. I think religion is beneficial.

I agree to, the only reason it seems that Religion (some) was created is to be orginized and have morals, but at the same time I'm christian, and I still have my faith also, but you give so little to your religion that it doesn't hurt to believe, at least for me.

religion is destructive and causes far more problems than it solves, while the morales are good in theory, people take it way too far and extreme, yes okay believe what you want that's up to you, but to kill people for not believing what you do is ridiculous, that shit has happend for centuries and will never stop, religion has caused alot of problems throughout history and it's going to cause many more

nah, thing is these "morals" were in existance before religion, people always love to talk about how religion makes people behave morally.
its obsolete, i dont think in the scheme of things the harm has far outweighed the benefits... but the fact that there has been huge harm as a result of religion is enough to make it obsolete imo.
thing is, there are bad religious people, there are good religious people. being religious doesnt make you "good" or make you "bad" morally.
if people gain comfort from it then thats fine, i dont have a problem with them believing what they want.

IF WE CAN ANSWER THIS ONE QUESTION, we can find out if religion is a positive or negative.
would the killer who killed in the name of religion have killed without religion ever being there? or, just because there was no religion, would this ruler have conquered without conquering in its name?
