how many movies are coming out now that are 90% cgi?
stealth, star wars, sin city - acception etc
star wars was shit compared to the original because the sets and locations made the movies and the actors were talking to other people not a guy with tennis balls on his grill
sure a little cgi can be used well in movies but i think directors and studios are getting lazy now with it, lotr needed it but its starting to get ridiculous
anyone else agree?

MAN CGI IS the best thing to happen to movies.
come on, all them ol classic movies would look WAY better if they had CGI work on it.

Well, CGI fucks up some movies sometimes, I mean, just look at episode 1 of Star Wars, looks fake as shit, even compared to 4,5,6. Episode 3 gave me this SW feeling back though.

my point isnt cgi is shit, its just played out
honestly, id rather see a dope set built than some cgi, i find it incredibly easy to spot cgi and it takes a little out of it for me
sure cgi battles and shit in lotr were needed but they still used sets and massive landscapes built to look like the setting of the film, and thats probably one of the best elements of the movie

if its done good fuck it, but what i hate is on those ghost house movies where its a regular ass scary show, no special effects at all then they show the monster and its a fuckin glow in the dark baby or computer animated ghost.

truth, the use of CGI is debatable....
sometimes it works and sometime it shouldn't have been used at all
in most cases its used when its impratical or even more costly than actual construction
i think the realism of CGI is advancing, though probably more expensive, Gollum is evidence of that....i'm sure King Kong will prove this statement.....hopefully some next-gen CGI

yeah star wars was better when they used muppets and guys in suits for aliens....they were a lot funnier lol.....but cgi should be used for space battles and shit....
