Anybody got that track "Only You"?
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.

    Tricky - Maxinquaye is 5/5
Portishead - Dummy is also 5/5

But seriously, if you want to fuck with half trip/techno
    I recommend:

    Faithless - Insomnia
    Faithless - Salva Mea
    Faithless - We Come One

I hate these motherfucker's videos though

They got a new album coming out soon. Apparently it won't sound like the others though. Dunno what it will sound like.

ive been listening to maxinquaye for the last few days and i dunno. Its not really fucking with dummy. Some of maxinquayes beats sound too much alike and some tracks are long as fuck and make me press the fast forward.

That said maxinquaye is still a great album. I love Martina's vocals.

Portishead Album One Day From Completion
Challenge Madlib to soccer match? Photo by Grumpy Man DJs

From close, to, well, closer: in fact, as Geoff Barrow of Portishead tells it, the band's third proper LP is just one day away from completion. Barrow, checking in on the band’s blog, says Portishead spent a few days in London finishing things up, but are back in Bristol making executive decisions regarding album art and plotting their return to the stage. "i think one more day messing about with it and it will be done," Barrow writes. "then into the wonderful world of mastering.. [joke]" He doesn't actually like mastering all that much, see.

Barrow then mentions that megaproducer Madlib will join the band at the ATP Nightmare Before Christmas event they're curating. He adds "im putting a footy team together for a little 6 a side comp for a laugh." Does that mean he's challenging Madlib to a soccer match? Ooh, we hope so!
The three-day Nightmare begins December 7 at Butlins Holiday Centre in Minehead, England.

i cosign this two year-old statement about their self-titled album haha. i bought it on saturday, and while some tracks are great, Beth Gibbon's voice on some of the songs is off-pitch and irritating.

all the beats are dope though.

favorite tracks off that album were Over, Only You, All Mine, WESTERN EYES

i need to hear dummy. should have bought that one first haha.

how was their new album, Third?
