    Default Mystic River

Was just watchin this movie again the other night. Brilliant film i think Clint Eastwood done well in creating a dark and haunting atmosphere. Sean Penn's a fuckin brilliant actor.

What are all ya'll opinions on it?

Very great film that goes over the heads of some people (thus the "This film is SOOO OVERRATED" type discussions that usually spawn after someone comments on how great it is). Honestly, it was THE film that truly made me recognize that Eastwood is one of the best directors period. A lot of little things came together with how it was shot that really brought out the big picture. Furthermore, it's a great example of how a director gets everyone to bring their A game to a film. Which is to say that while, for example, Sean Penn is a great actor in general, he's even better than usual in this film relative to many other films he has been in thanks to Eastwood's direction.

Really good film. One of the best Eastwood. An amazing casting (Tim Robbins is just crazy...damn) and a really stylish way to deal with this dark dark story. And PERFECT ending.

    yea. great movie.

I think the most haunting part of the movie is at the end when Sean Penn's character is wraught with guilt over killing Tim Robbins Character after finding out he didnt kill Penns daughter.......but than his wife does a jezebel and tells him he is a king and the city is his for the taking and totally sets his mind to taking over....

I thought that was a crazy scene
