I was recently talking to someone over the weekend and a conversation about money came up. The guy who I was talking to is a grad. student at WSU, the same college I attend. He says he has $30,000 locked up somewhere in the city. He also told me he'd NEVER touch the money, no matter what the situation is. I asked him, "If you had an apartment fire, you would get yourself a new apartment, right?" This guy said "No". I said, "What are you going to do? Live in a crackhead shelter until you save up enough money to get yourself a new apartment without touching at least ten grand? Lol." He says, "Yep! You know what buddy, living in those conditions wouldn't bother me because I've been there. Even though I have a B.S. in Biology, I have nice clothes and other material things, I know where I came from. If I lost everything, every dollar, I still wouldn't touch the $30,000. Living with drug dealers, crackheads, and hookers wouldn't really bother me. Yeah, I attend college. I'm a very bright person. But I also know how to check these people when the time comes. I'll be mad than a muthafucka, but I still wouldn't touch the money. That's it." Then I say, "You're a grad. student! WTF, man. Aren't you worried about begining robbed or killed over money? You are a grad. student. Keep that in mind."
I don't understand why someone would do that to theirself if they had that much money. Fires are no joke. I had a house fire back in 1993, and let me tell you, it's complete hell!! You really have to start all over. I don't know, but I wouldn't do it.
