So, back on topic I heard Fela Kuti told anyone that did not like what the ruling party was doing they could stay with him on his property...then the Police responded by throwing his mother out of a window
no, but i visit every year (idk about his one though, money's getting tight)
i wasn't born there, but my parents were and i consider myself a nigerian first because i grew up there.
im gonna live there after school, and im trying to transfer there for college as i speak
They also arrested and beat the hell out of him, but when he got out he made even more music, some of his best shit.
Yea, that waz some fucked up shit they did, i guess that was one of the reasons Fela hated the Governments guts. His son Femi is aiight, got some good songs too, but he can never be like his father. He did a song called: She'we'rae( i don't kno if i spelled it right, cuz its a native language), which means act crazy; anywhere this song was played, you see assholes doing all kinds of crazy shit for no good reason lol.
lincoln NE USA
how about you?
Can't really remember how old he was, but the man died of AIDS due to the fact he had so many wifes i guess. I still remember watching him on T.V during his last days; he wasn't really depressed like most people were, when they find out that they got AIDS. Fela would just sit in his chair, putting on only panties and smoking weed all day long lol; it was like a reality show.
^Lol
but yeah it came from his lifestyle with women.
he believed in open sexual relations and having several wives in protest of westernization, i think he had 25 but not sure.
^ain't it the truth, some ppl are literally too real to live.
he lived more then most ppl that die at 100, and i think it's about the impact not the length of life
58 isn't that young, it's just that he still had mad potentials and a lot of people loved him. There were times people argued bout Fela becoming the president of Nigeria lol, it seemed like a fantasy for a person of his status, but if Fela was a politician, he would have won every election by a land slide; that's how popular Fela was in Nigeria.
