Being the younger brother of a producer that is heralded as a marvel in own right is always going to be cause fans and listeners to find similarities and comparisons, however for those that have followed Oh No's career will know that he never had any attention of being a second Madlib and set out to stamp his own mark over great production synonymous with cleverly chopped up samples, hard drums and trembling bass.
Micheal “Oh No” Jackson actually taught himself the fine art of Hip Hop production gear when Madlib would leave the room and this album of awesome instrumentals show s that talent clearly runs deep in that family.
Oh No has amassed a collage of samples off records from the Middle East, Turkey, India,Greece and compliments them with his signature drums and sound.
One big difference between the 2 brothers is that Oh No's production is a lot cleaner than Madlib's often unfinished sounding beats and it is interesting to think that perhaps, Madlib and Oh No worked on their collective instrumental albums, without knowledge of what the other was working on, either way Oh No has the better album and this is thirty short tracks of fantastic production you need to get acquainted with pronto.
