on Robbie's earlier recommendation I just watched the pilot of 'Ozark'. I can't remember the time seeing a pilot that was this good, apart from the shows I'd rank as top 3.

good call Rob. thanks. gonna dip into some of the rest of the first season now

    Tales from the cryptkeeper
Wikipedia, states this is a "animated horror childrens series". I would bet it is the only one in the category. It aired in 90s.

Ozark is fantastic. I think TSA called it first.

I'm watching the Kubrick films again. Last night was Barry Lyndon.

Barry Lydon, very underrated film. What's next on Kubrick watch list?

It probably should be The Killing because it's one I haven't seen.

I will watch them all though. Redmond Barry is such a piece of shit haha, it's a stunning film. Totally misanthropic.

I have not seen The Killing. I have actually not seen any of his earlier work. I have seen everything starting with Spartacus and there after. You watch it and let me know if it worth watching, probably is, but most of older movies no matter how good they may be I have a hard time watching. I think it has someone do with the pacing of films during that time.

^ It's definitely a 50s film stylistically, but if you watch a lot of older films you can tell that Kubrick is working with different ideas than his peers of that era. It still has that cynical, cold view of humanity. As a heist movie it's much less substantial than the films that followed. It's good though, I can imagine that certain elements inspired Tarantino and the Coens. I can't guess if you'd like it.

Also saw The Invisible Man starring Elizabeth Moss. Very entertaining.

'Color Out Of Space', the movie based on what is probably H.P. Lovecraft's best story, is out now. Nick Cage is in it. I read a four star review today, supposedly it is VERY good and Cage has some meme worthy moments in it

unfortunately it is shown on platforms I'm not a member of like iTunes, AppleTV, Google Movies. I'll get to see it later

if you won't get to see the movie soon, you can read the short story here : https://www.hplovecraft.com/writings...iction/cs.aspx

That is directed by Richard Stanley. He was the original director of the 1996 version of the Island of Dr. Moreau. Their is a documentary about that entire production called, Lost Souls: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley's Island of Dr. Moreau. If you can find it, it is definitely worth watching. The Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer stories are wild.

How are you coming on watching this series? I have previously watched all 3 seasons. I thought Julia Garner as Ruth was exceptional. She would be perfect for a spinoff series.
