    Miyagi was Okinawan...not Japanese.

    But Pat Morita is Japanise i think. he played a Jap in Midway.

    Is Okinawa not a Japanese Island? I seem to remember learning that it was in Japanese class.

    I agree. I refuse to watch "Memoroirs of a Geisha" because they have Chinese actresses speaking English (not very well either).

    Miyagi-san had a lot of Japanese bits in there that don't fit in if it's in China. Like the bonsai. Or just that KARATE is JAPANESE martial arts

    Japan owns Okinawa, but the people are Okiniwan, and mostly speak their own language, but learn Japanese the way Tibetens learn Chinese (by force). It's like how the US owns Hawaii and Alaska, but they're not really part of the US, geographically

    I was skeptical before, but this is looking promising based on the pictures. I question the title a bit since they're actually training in a form of kung fu. But whatever, that's something I won't mind too much about if the movie turns out to be good.

    Default The new karate kid looks like an epic failure.

    I don`t know why they had to mess wit the classic`s, this movie already looks like a failure, and having will smiths son playing the lead role looks wack.
