It's not about being mature, I don't enjoy listening to it. I don't care how "soulful" it is or whatever, I'm not going to listen to it if I don't like the sound of it.

although you don't like it, it is not in anyway a bad song

it comes down to preference but that's what soul music sounds like (or mos interpretation of soul) which is the foundation of hip hop as that's what's sampled constantly

how can you honestly say its not about being mature when you're 15? lol your age does not permit you to know such things

indeed, I've grown in so many different ways since I was 15 but its damn near impossible to really convey to someone what thats like. Its something only the experience itself can really provide.

This album is a classic to me, i can put it on and not skip a single track, the production is tight, and mos is on point with his lyrics, this is from and era when mos was at his best!

i give it a 7. doesn't come close to the blackstar album, although "hip hop" is a monumental track.

It's not about age or maturity, I just don't like the song... Jesus. As I already said, it's not about how soulful it is or whatever, I don't like listening to it, and I don't think at any point I said it was a "bad song".

Wack album because of the beats. I like his lyrics though. Umi Says song is wack. Mos Def shouldn't sing LOL.

In my top 10. Few artists make as definitive a mission statement as 'Hip-Hop'.
