Default What was that thing with RZA & Masta Killa back in 2001-2004?

They were on a lot of songs together - I think RZA was on two songs on NSD and Masta Killa was on maybe 5 songs on Digital Bullet & BOAP. And then there are those unreleased songs, Rooftop Talk and Money First.

I'm not asking about beef or drama or any of that shit, I'm just wondering why they did so many songs together during that time.

edit - on an unrelated sidenote, Domestic Violence 2 is that shit

Big Gipp & RZA on a song together = dopeness

I'm saying he's dope, all those songs are classy and shit, I'm just wondering why it was specifically Masta Killa who guested on the songs. Was it because they worked together on NSD and just spent a lot of time in the studio or something? I remember Grits originally being meant for NSD.

Black Mamba is another dope collaboration between them. Are there any more tracks from this duo, I think they work really well together.

RZA said in a recent interview that when ODB got out of jail he said that Masta Killa was the only clan member who stayed true to Wu-Tang. Unlike all these other cats, Masta Killa has always been humble and appreciated that RZA gave him a chance to shine.

    Exactly

That's why I was kind of surprised that Masta had no RZA beats on Made In Brooklyn. It was a good album but I think a RZA produced song with just him and Masta spitting would have made it better.

They also toured together in 2003, that's when the NSD hype started. A good example of how long a hype should last. coughraecoughob4cliicough

I remember when the mixtape leaked at the end of 2002 and this site & WuTangWorld were going insane

Haha, insane indeed. Those tracks were incredible to the standards of that time. NO SAID DATE NO SAID DATE NO SAID DATE NO SAID DATE NO SAID DATE. And then we had the rumour of the remix with Outkast on it. Only ike 4-5 tracks leaked. And eveyrthing was just perfect. But when School leaked. I tripped because that shit was so fucking dope.

I even got two of those NSD mixtapes.

We had been waiting for so long for Masta to drop. And then it finally came.
