Default Bluesman Sues 2Pac, KRS One, N.W.A., Will Smith, Peedi Crack...

Sylvester Johnson, a legendary Mississippi bred bluesman, is reportedly suing Will Smith, KRS One, N.W.A., Peedi Crack, Young Chris and the estate of the late rapper Tupac Shakur for sampling his song “Different Strokes without permission and failing to compensate him.

According to TMZ, the lawsuit was filed recently in an Illinois Court and also names the artists respective labels which include Capitol, Sony/BMG, Zomba, Universal, Mijac Music and Amaru Entertainment.

Johnson claims “Different Strokes , which was crafted in 1967, has been used in Michael Jackson's “Blood On The Dance Floor , Will Smith's “Who Stole The D.J. , KRS One's “Criminal Minded , Peedi Crack & Young Chris' “Criminal Background , N.W.A's “Real Niggaz Don’t Die and 2Pac's “Peep Game and “Nothing But Love .

Johnson is seeking unspecified damages. Reps for the aforementioned artists have not released comment on the suit.
