classic album, didn't get the greatest reviews when it came out but i love, premo really brought it and Guru sounded brilliant, granted Jada got him on right where you stand but classic material that'll stand the test of time like most Gangstarr albums

Not a classic but a highly underated piece of music, I can't see how anyone would dislike this album, it may have a few wack guests but otherwise this was Guru and Premier sticking to what they know......dope raw hip hop.

    Lyrics 7/10
    Production 8/10
    Overall 7/10

I love this album.. dunno why, it's completely average, but sometimes that can be good. Just dope beats and dope lyrics, Jada kicked one of my favourite (and only) verses from him on one right Where You Stand.. It introduced me to Smiley which introduced me to his EP which he released that had DOPE premo production.

Just a nice album as background music, 7/10

Default Damn, i really slept on 'The Ownerz'

Ive been going through a bit of a Gangstarr faze latley, and ive been bumpin all the usual classics, so i decided to though this on. I bought this the day it came out, but only played it a few times, was kinda dissapointed, and through it into my cd pile, and hadnt listened to it since.

But i threw it on, and i was like Damn! This is fuckin dope. I played it 3 times one after the other, and if i do that it means an album is dope. Its not as great as some of the others, i dont think Guru is lyrically as strong, but it has some great beats.

    Anyone else feelin this?

Its a banger straight through, some amazing beats by Premo. The track with Krumsnatcha (cant remember the name) is fuckin sick. That 'hiney' skit gets kinda annoying though

    Yup.

I'll be honest, only Gangstarr I own is this and Full Clip. Really should investigate more.

^man u have some classics to get a hold of. Get ALL of their albums, well i dunno bout 'No More Mr. Nice Guy', i dont have that, but ALL of the rest are classic. start off with 'Moment Of Truth', its the most accessible, then work your way back.

this one has grown on me a bit. i thought it was average at first because the beats all sounded the same which clearly illustrated premo very limited sonic range but he did a good job still. playtawin and the ownerz are among the illest beats he's ever laced.

lyrically guru is just about out of gas but he has a few dope verses.

I'd say it's my 2nd favorite Gang Starr album after Moment of truth, with Hard to Earn taking 3rd place
