It's actually mainly gonna focus on Two Face. The trailer was set up to mislead. The Joker's main role is to cement it all together. It does look brilliant.

I think Nicholson portrayed The Joker from the animated series very good and Ledger ( based on the trailer ) goes back to the comics...that's the difference to me.

Unless there was a series I don't know about, the animated Batman series came out 3 years after the Keaton/Nicholson Batman movie. The Batman characters have been portrayed differently over the years in the comics, from the more colourful cartoon comic book style (like Nicholson's Joker), to the much darker more sinister style (like Ledger's Joker).
