And I'm not gonna pretend that I'm the best person to answer it
But I'll put in my thoughts :

I'm only guessing but I would have assumed that The Joker
Would have featured in the third movie be it big or small.
They could incorporate him into the third I think...

Maybe he was captured and put in a mental asylum ?
Only being able to talk through a glass wall due to security.
(similar looking actor with the leftover Heath vocals obviously very minimal screen time)

Or perhaps they try and flip it and make out that The Joker actually did die...
But "It's All Part Of The Plan" and he creates more havok from beyond the grave ?
They could even make out that The Joker sent for the next villains.
I'm sure they have masses of footage and his voice...
I think he will be "involved" all be it very small.
I don't know it's a tough question but a very interesting one.


My sisters a big Heath Ledger fan and she said he stayed in a Hotel Room
And over the course of more than a mounth he began creating "The Joker"
His posture, motive, background history, the lip licking and finally his voice and speech
Of which he found the the most difficult.
He also kept a journal as "The Joker" literally becomming the character.
And setting his mind in that state.

Heath Ledger wasn't acting...

that's what cha called getting into charecter allot of smart brilliant actors do that. Heath was amazing i'm buying this on DVD this movie blew Iron Man out the water as the better summer movie

I was just reading about this else where and it's all rumor! Nolan hasn't even signed up to do a third yet, so with no script theres been no casting yet or even charecters decided upon. Apparently hes on vacation and will make up his mind when he gets back but it's on the cards just waiting on a yes from him!

While the internet is going crazy with casting rumors that aren't true for Christopher Nolan's possible third Batman movie, the director himself is on vacation as The Dark Knight approaches $500 million domestically.

The Hollywood Reporter has published an interesting article about the film's marketing and the deaths of both Heath Ledger and Conway Wickliffe before the film's release. The piece ends with a bit on the third installment.

And Warners and Legendary are both interested in doing a third in the series, but all involved say it will be up to Nolan to come to them with a story and a plan.

"There are a lot of us who emotionally would love to do it," Roven says. "But it's really Chris' call. Chris is the kind of filmmaker who just doesn't think about the next movie before he has completely finished the movie he is working on."

For now, Nolan is taking a well-earned vacation.

Says Roven, "When he comes back, we will see how he feels."

i wouldnt want johnny depp as the riddler. i would perfer actors like heath ledger, the guy who played two face, & christian bale. actors who are known, but not so popular. they did that with the other batmans & we all saw how they turned out. if they went that route i would perfer they give them smaller roles like morgan freeman & michael cain.

Co-sign!! That's why this recent Batman franchise has worked. This flick is approaching 500m by the way.

i strongly disagree,i think a charecter like the riddler needs to be played by someone who has experience with tackling weird charecters ala jacksparrow sweeney tood,edward scissorhands and we know that if there is one man that can pull this off with ease and deliver the performance of a lifetime,its definately my main man johhny depp
