Wolverine, Beware, The Blob! Written by Silas Lesnick Friday, 15 February 2008 Film School Rejects is reporting that Hugh Jackman has revealed another character in next summer's Wolverine; The Blob!




It sounds like the Blob is being filmed practically with an actor in an enormous fat-suit whose size will be increased visually to have him weighing in close to 1,200 pounds.

The Blob first appeared way, way back in 1964 in X-Men #3. Born a mutant, Fred Dukes is found by the X-Men working in a circus freakshow and encouraged to join. Enormously fat, the Blob has the ability to repel and redirect bullets by letting them ricochet off his skin.

Being the jerk that he is, the Blob spits in Xavier's face and gets his memory erased, returning to the freakshow and later coming back as a member of Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

This film will, no doubt, have a pretty extensive rewrite of the Blob's history and it sounds like they're going to place him as a military officer who served alongside Wolverine in a mutant special ops team.
