some of this may be personal pref, but to me, pacino's roles have been much more diverse.

    come on...

have you seen Cape Fear? The Fan? Angel Heart? Brazil? Taxi Driver? King of Comedy?, Novecento?

i have no understanding of what Tonearm was getting at with his post...

anyway, Righteous Kill should be interesting, either a huge disappointment or what a lot of people have been waiting for , for ages.

trailer looks pretty corny, but you can never tell much from a trailer, especially since this wont be released for another 5 months or so.

(and i dont know what the fuck they did to the Rolling Stones track, blasphemy) a

I loved how De Niro portrays Al Capone, Jake LaMotta, young Don Vito, etc. De Niro seems to have more noted films then Pacino such as his roles in Raging Bull, New York New York, Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Cape Fear, Casino, etc. I think most people like Pacino only over Scarface and some of Godfather, but to me it's De Niro all the way, I always loved the personalitys he takes on in each movie.

Voted for Pacino, but only because I love "Scarface" and "Insomnia". But De Niro is versatile, he can play a gangster, and then his next movie'll be a comedy

There doesn't need to be any debate. You can't go wrong with either of them. Pacino and De Niro are the all time best actors in the business in my opinion. Their lists of movies beats anybody elses. If I have to choose..I'll say Al Pacino but by a very very slim margin. I'll give Denzel his props too...he's definately up there as well.

Wow...do you really think so ?????????
I would have said De Niro has a MUCH wider range than Pacino.
De Niro is funny as well as being a great actor in Mafia flicks and other genres.

Co-Sign...It's neck & neck at the moment so there you have it !
    I agree with Denzel as well....Dare I say...TOM HANKS ????
They are both mastes of their craft...
I have not seen as many films with Pacino than with De Niro so obviously that's
Gonna have some bearing on my choice.

have you seen Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco, Scent of a Woman, The Devil's Advocate, Glengarry Glen Ross, Dick Tracy, The Insider, And Justice For All ? all phenominal performances by Pacino. i DO know what youre saying tho, De Niro has been in better movies in general but their acting range is the same.
