Wow...9 Movies...thats a bit much.
Harry Potter is going for 7 though...so ?
I liked X-Men 3 but they did fuck things up in my opinion.
They tried to cram way to much into the whole film and killed Key-Charaters
Professor X, Cyclops, Jean Grey...
And no Apocalypse...No Sentinels...No Arc-Angel...No Gambit...No Omega-Red
The possibilities are endless but they relied too much on the fanchise and diddn't
Create in my opinion the best possible story...or Trilogy.
I feel the same way about "HULK"
Great movie...It just took way too long to get going...
Good story and when it eventually did get going it was amazing...
But it wasn't at it's full potential...and now from what I've seen...it definatly is.
I think "The Incredible Hulk" will prove that X-Men should be re-drafted...
And they should just go sick.
Transformers took it's time and look how that turned out...
Batman Begins took it's time and look how that turned out...
Both the sequels to these films^
Are now both the most anticapated I would say.
PEACE

and for Harry Potter, there is a more clear understanding of how to make the movies...they are based on the respective books...there are SOOOOOO many Spider-Man comics man.

You don't know if Cyclops was actually killed or not. They didn't show it. The Professor X situation was justified in the scene after the credits, and if anyone knows the story of Jean Grey and Phoenix, you should already know that she is capable of returning for a sequel.
As for adding apocalypse, that would be rushing the franchise and cost way too much money to add. They had the head of the sentinel, so that's cool. And they did have Angel. The only person I wish they'd added a long time ago, maybe around the second x-men film is Gambit. You can only fit so many characters in the x-men movies, and I believe they thought Juggernaut was more interesting and popular than Omega-Red.

How was there a lack of a plot? And what exactly makes a plot "proper?" The movie plot doesn't have to follow the same plots or storylines in the comics or cartoon. i.e. The Phoenix is a alien spirit that possessed Jean Grey in the comics and in the cartoon, but in the movie, the Phoenix was already a part of her. Or the fact that Nightcrawler is Mystique's son and Rogue was adopted by her.
The comics, cartoons, and movies all should have some kind of different storylines from each other and that's not necessarily saying break away from the whole storyline as a whole.

i reiterate....
reboot Xmen and start from iceman angel cyclope beast jean and angel colossus storm nightcrwaler and wolvie
DO stick to the comic storyline.
why would you suggest that the movies and comix have diff stories but at the same time agree to harry potter book to movie consistancy?
there is
the fall of the mutants
the mojo/longshot arc
apocalypse
mr sinister/cable arc
gambit/bishop arc
the genosha arc
the brood
and the list goes on and on...
just pick a story, fuck the backstory and run with it. we all know something about xmen, just let the ones who don't catch upon their own.
I can't belive that for one second...
Omega-Red is too sick.
And I think they should have used CGI for juggernaut.
As for Apocalypse...yeah I'll give you that one.
But At least they were on the right track with the Sentinel in the traing room.
I think every one would love to see Gambit.
I hope that Arc-Angel is featured.
Its down to taste really...
If we all made our own X-Men movies I bet none of them would be the same...
Like I said...The possiblities are endless.
