Awhile back i heard that Priest had penned Deja Vu before Nas's rewind. And im not trying to knock nas because im a fan but doesnt make priest the creative one of the two. since he initally came up with the concept of rhyming backwards?

Similar thing with Organized Konfusion's Stray Bullet and Nas' I Gave You Power, the Ok track was done before. This is an interesting topic. I'd say that both Priest and OK were ahead of their time when they made those tracks. But assuming Nas hadn't heard those tracks before, I dunno if it's far,i to say that he was less creative.
i had always hear about this and always wanted to ask this question
Also the Sunz of Man were saying they have a song called It Was Written that was spiritual in the same sense as Nas' It Was Written album that came out around the same time. Listen to Autobiography by Razah and Shabazz.
I'm almost 100% sure Nas would have heard Stray Bullet. They're all from queens, and Nas even appeared on a wake-up show freestyle with them, I think it'd be pretty hard for Nas to have never heard their material, much less a stand out track as unique as Stray Bullet.
^True, now NYOil (Kool Kim of the UMC's) is saying that Nas' new song "be a nigga too" has striking similarities to one of his songs. Sad thing about the industry is that even if an Artist was inspired by another Artist, they would have too much pride to admit it or give credit.

could be the case
sometimes though artists try doin a concept song and there's no other way 2 do it but 2 re-invent somethin some 1 else did
how many Mc's u think have made a song similar 2 the Brenda joint by tupac?
^Yeah, too many to count ~ Tupac inspired so many with that record.
Great Artists come up with similar ideas as well.

All Great Minds Think Alike, but i think Nas had a unique spin on itI'm almost 100% sure Nas would have heard Stray Bullet. Couldn't agree more^
I was waiting years for them to bless a track together !!!!
They are so alike it's scary !!!!
I really feel Priest though...Nas is dope but not next to Priest.
I find it amazing that they have not made an album together...
It would be a classic no doubt.
Right now theres some lyricist penning a type of verse never heard before ,and then on the other side of the planet someone penning the same idea but expressing diffrently ,now all it takes is the first to get it out there to be called a pioneer, but the truth is that at anytime in life thought travel at the speed of light ,its who thats gona get it out there and say it the best thats gona get the props for it ...like nas said in one rhyme no rhyme is original everyhing has been said,in one way or another !
