Thx for the good feeds fellaz. A good level for this battle. Varan, Infinity and Moose are my favs and Moose have my vote. Too bad only the beatmakers seems to vote on these battles.
shitao came the best for me
sorry for the short post
peace
I was diggin' shitao's the most but plex and infinity's beats were ill
WHere is the 7 and 8 votes at. Highest is 3. It really is just us music makers voting. Not even all the music makers are voting. I would make a thread but I dont need the votes like that. We all need the votes like that.
Uhhh I Went With Mf Herbs!
Shitao - I Need A Woman - Not Bad, nice use of “oh”, didn’t like the beginning part but that could easily be changed. I liked the consistency of the song as it changes little by little. This is a very conscience rapper’s type of beat. The only thing that I found a slight problem with was the talking at the beginning, but getting rid of it somewhat messes up the atmosphere. So I’m a bit conflicted to vote for this, since it’s a nice song.
Moose36 – The Future – Not Bad either, nice continuity. I like how it goes into a sorta stealth-mode and then continues on it’s designated pace. I like how it does give off this sorta futuristic aura throughout the entire song, just as the title suggested.
Shogah – I like the griminess to this beat, very dark and sinister. No title tho, but that could easily be changed, best song as a battle track so far. It’s stalls a bit in the beginning, just to let you realize that the beast is coming, then outta nowhere the beast is all up in your face and you got nothing to say.
Schizo-Manic – Fasting 4 Mental Clarity – This is sorta like a MF Doom beat, I like it. It started with a blissful song, and then added the percussions making it somewhat menacing. This type of style of beat just inspires you to write a verse from the minute you hear it, but that’s just me.
Technician – Warfare – I didn’t know what to say about this beat the first time I heard it. I kinda knew somewhat of the atmosphere he was trying to create, and successfully accomplished it. Really wished that he would’ve flipped the track a bit, with the organs is it? Only song I listened to three times so far, and my opinion still stands.
Devamps – Had To Go Crazy – I’m not too crazy about the sample the first time I heard it, but the second time, it was different. This is something that an indie artist would definitely go for, almost something that Lupe Fiasco or MURS would choose, and any or all of the likes in between.
Complex – Wild Format – Ironically, I was expecting a simple beat, and ended up listening to a complex beat (no pun intended). Similar to Technician’s but is pulled off with a different style. So far, nothing negative to say about any of these beats. The sample at the beginning was a different change of pace and the way that the beat introduces itself is pulled off with no faults.
Infinity tha God – Synthesis – Wasn’t a fan of the beat drops in the beginning, but after a second listen it fits perfectly to the sound that I was expected. Furthermore, it was a clever use of the flanger in some parts of the song. And the short “break” in between was just the perfect touch to this beat, almost meant for a more-than-one-person track.
MF Herbz – Va Sum Luv – Right now MF Herbz got the most votes, let’s see if I agree. After listening to it the first time, I felt that it had the potential to be on a Bronze Nazareth type of compilation. I like the sample on this one, and the way the beat seems to stutter throughout the entire of the song. Different taste from what the others brought. Nice change of scenery.
Erap – The Beatdown – It started just as the song title suggested, it came with that raw style and then it mellowed out for a bit (can’t be all ass kicking without a little breather, you know). It was a beat that went back and forth which turned out to be a bit predictable, but still a nice beat.
Okay I went back and listen to all of the songs about 3-4 times by now and came to a conclusion that Complex’s beat was my most favorite beat, although some did come close like Schizo-Manic’s, Shitao’s, and Devamps’s songs (not the only ones). But since I could only vote for one, I opted to go with my first instinct and choose Complex’s beat.
Nice collection of beats if I may say so myself. There are no terrible beats here. I would gladly write rhymes to any of these beats. Peace and hope the next battle is as good and tough as this one.
^^^ Hopefully someone reads that in its entirety.
for me it was close between Schizo and MF Herbs but i voted Schizo....
yeah that was cool comin thru with a review like that. Wish more members came thru. I made a thread though....in the hip-hop section.
^^^ I thank you for that, and if you let me know when the next battle is, I'll be more than happy to review the tracks once more. I love reviewing these shits, especially when the competitors come with their own different styles.
Shitao made the illest beat for me. Than there is Shizo-Manic and DEVAMPS.
Herbs or infinity.... 50/50- voted for inf in the poll tho
