Italy will always be there or there abouts. Italian players benefit from serie A being strong. you can produce as many highly talented youngsters but if you dnt develop them properly you wont get anything. Italians kno how to get the best from talent.

they didnt do well the tournament, but they ranked second in the world at the moment. they are a good team. i think they really missed the flair that Totti brings. They couldnt really find a replacement for him. it will probably take some time to find someone to fill his shoes.

one things for sure, they will always be a threat. Very consistent team. Apart from Germany there is no other European nation that shows the same consistency as Italy.

first time since 93 brazil has been out of the top 3. and first time ever for spain at the top, only the 6th team ever, with italy, brazil, argentina, germany, and france as the others.
The earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and in triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot.

People are too stupid to effectively conspire to do anything, but not too stupid to come up with conspiracy theories.

finally someone is honest enough to say something postive about us.
italy will always be one of the teams to look out for in any tournament...

and to shizzah....how can you honestly say we're no better than france??
italy has a strong squad every year man,ok we struggled this year with injury's but even without our top players we made spain struggle, and they only won cus of the penalty's.
not taking anything away from spain, they deserve it...

but nah, italy has a strong squad every year!!
we've won 4 world cups, and have been in a big final almost every decade.
thats some bullshit saying we're the same as france...

    Come on !!!!!!!
    It's a Shoot-Out !!!!!! (as Lucky reminds me)
The "so-called" strikers should step up to the plate "play your position"
They are supossed to be the guys who score goals for fun ???
So they go at the back of the que ? and possibly not even take a kick ?
    Thats just bait...and it showed.
In my opinion they should be the first to step up.

i agree with strikers being the first up to take penalties. at the end of the day they are the ones who are assigned to put the ball in the back of the net.

del p was shooting 5th. they didnt expect to loose before than. if it gets to the 5th shot that means its for the game. to either win it, or stay in it. thats a big responsibility, thats why they had del p there. and toni has never been a penalty shooter. its just not in some forwards bag of tricks.

italy are consistent...but i dont like their style of play...sure it brings them results but they are boring to watch...they only play real well when they are losin, once they have the lead they play boring ass footy

france...well they are not anything like italy
without zidane i dont see them doin well
they will be at tourneys but i dont see them winnin anything
they had a chance in 06 but zidane facked it all up

france has talent but without zidane they aint sayin much

yep the fifa rankings are a bit suspect if you ask me

brazil isnt playin well these days, they been foolin around too much
dunga is under fire......if he dont win olympic gold then hes done!!

Well France wont be doing much in the future thats for sure. Domenech is still with them.

World cup should be really interesting though. Qualifying for the European teams start in September.
