actually, anyone else think gza sounds cranky here?
more akbar
dissapointing beat (damn, gza would have needed rza banger; beat made back in the 90s and kept for special occasions like this one), but gza doesn't dissapoint when it comes to lyrics.
however, the track is quite growing on me.
not up on release dates, but if his next album is dropping within the next few months, this was a smart move.
50 I'm sure will come back with something and the 50 fans who didn't know gza existed until now surely will soon. 50 is so popular hiphop fans in general will catch wind of it.
That's not to say Gza's album will sell through the roof now. But it's never a bad thing to have your name talked about. It's not as if 50 is just going to stay quiet now.
As for the track it's good, not great. Most "diss" records aren't great anyway.
Can't have gza be something he's not. It would have sounded much worse if he tried to be "amped" up for it. This is Gza, he is what he is.
There were some classic lines in here, the sort of lines like the Hatton line that wouldve killed 50 if this was a street battle. he didnt sound like a rottweiler though, you gotta sound like a angry dog going for the throat. 50 might hear this and ignore it cause theres no energy.
^ That's what I've been saying.
I like it.
That's why we do the do, just know who is who, acknowledge me all day, and understand Wu is Wu - Chef Raekwon
I'm hood ornaments, junkies win awards in my tournaments - Chef Raekwon
on a more positive note, this track raises my anticipation for another Gza album. despite the negative aspects he shows that he still has that cleverness and wit in his lyrics. and best of all, he didnt recycle a bunch of old lines as he's done a lot lately.
diss records clearly arent his forte though...
Christianity = White Supremacy
LOL fool, not at all..I ain't no 50 cent fan, but if I was 50 and I heard this, I wouldn't be too worried.I mean I like this track a lil bit, but GZA just ain't no battle rapper....If ghost would've done this I would prolly think it was more ferocious of diss track.
it was aight had some good lines sounded like a setup track, like he is baiting 50 to respond. I wonder when Pro Tools is going to drop
like this...its no ether or hit em up or backdown...but its a good diss
"you holuscinate and see Kanye in your dreams"
this is fucking tight. the beat is a lil boring. gza dosent come out to strong. who cares. the lyrics are dope!!! gza is still one of the greatest lyricst out there.
