best music discussion thread I've seen here in awhile, there should be 1 for the hip hop and Wu Tang Chamber sections too! I've got to go back and listen to all the Rock in this thread & get educated

I guess for hip hop, Pete Rock, Large Professor & Tribe led us into a new era of basslines in hip hop , before them it wasn't as heavily used

EPMD - You Gots To Chill, It's My Thing, Let The Funk Flow, Cummin At Cha
A Tribe Called Quest - Buggin Out, Scenario
    a bunch of Roots songs
LL Cool J - The Boomin' System, Mr. Goodbar, Backseat Of My Jeep
Black Moon - Black Smif N Wessun, U Da Man
Smif N Wessun - Let's Git It On
Black Sheep - The Choice Is Yours
Pete Rock & CL - The Creator, Ghettos Of The Mind, The Basement, T.R.O.Y. remix, Death Becomes You
Pete Rock - Pete's Jazz, Shut Em Down remix, Rampage remix, Groove On and more
    Jay - Z - Can't Knock The Hustle
Kool G Rap - Death Threat
Bounty Killa feat. Masta Killa - Eyes A Bleed prod by RZA

    80's R&B funk basslines:
    Gap Band - Outstanding
    Slave - Just A Touch
    Deniece Williams - Free
Patrice Rushen - Giving Up, Forget Me Nots
    Kleer - Intimate Connection
    Cheryl Lynn - Encore
    Juicy - Sugar Free
    The Whispers - Rocksteady, Tonight
Keni Burke - Rising to The Top
Midnight Star - Night Rider (sounds like Billie Jean)

    Recent Hip Hop:
    Black Milk - The Matrix
    Fat Joe - Da Incredible
The U.N. - What They Want

some Premier sickness is Mobb Deep's Cop Hell, D.I.T.C.'s The Enemy and Chi Ali's No Surrender, No Retreat. He brought dark sinister basslines on those

turn up your bass, it's a little hard to hear the bass on these youtube vids

The Meters have some dope bass, it's been sampled in hip hop heavily

shit when TRIUMPH dropped in '97 my small car speakers couldnt handle that bass line..
and Flex played that shit like 4 times in a row.. by the end of the night my shits was making that weird crackling sound that speakers make when they rip at the seams...
