You mean it doesn't sound dated? Timbaland stuff is still way ahead of other producers but some of it sounds old.

yeah its not really dated. tell me a track on RD that sounds dated? Even if the overall sound is 90's reminiscent , engineers and mixers today would have that album sounding LEGIT!!! as far as todays sound goes.

its a timeless classic in my humble opinion.

what I was saying though was about how he said (Biz) about how we might be overhyping RD on the account of it being an older release ...

lotta ppl hail debuts as the pinnacle and we are now breaking out of that mentality because you can see how Wes Craven says that it was written is better than Illmatic and so many ppl co-signed that.

6 yrs ago NOBODY would DARE say that about illmatic

We were talking Vol 3 though.

Anyway RD is classic but it still sounds like when it was made.

I don't think RD sounds dated either, but this isn't an RD thread. A lot of stuff on Vol 3 sounds 1999-2000 esque, but I still love it.

Maybe dated is the wrong word. It sounds like the time it was made, 1996. Its rare that an artist is ahead of their time, or out of time. Timbaland beats from the late 90s are still more advanced than what producers are doing now.

^Yeah Coming of Age is a fuckin' great track.

I still don't understand the hate that Vol. 3 gets. What the fuck is wrong with this album in most people's eyes? Is it too eclectic?
