By The Way stands out lyrically??????? How the fuck so? He rhymes to "by the way" for half the song and the chorus is repetitive.

Listened to it a couple of times last night,

    Not entirely bad really.

Have to give it a few more spins before i rate it, but probably either a 6 or 7.

Finally my review...this is definitely an album to blaze in the car, but these beats aren't classic. Alot of the production has similar loops and aren't well crafted beats. Jeezy improved his flow, he rides some beats to the point where he can be saying bullshit, but it sounds good. Which gets me to the next point, if you actually listen to his lyrics, they are below average. Alot of tracks could of really stood out, but a few had flaws: Put On when Kanye does that voice decoder gayshit; Everything until Lil Boose jumped on it; My President b/c Nas completely outshines Jeezy. Still worth the pick up if your a fan.

Top 5: The Recession, By The Way, Don't Do It, Put On, My President
    Grade: (2.7/5) C+

Jeezy songs creep up on you after many listens until you finally realise how fuckign addictive they are. I knew Crazy World was a banger the first time I heard it, but it probably took me a good 15 listens before I really got it.

This is amp music pure and simp. This is music to get ready to. Get ready to anything. And I think Jeezy gives thru more emotion in his voice than most of these half assed rappers. Its so well produced though, somehow they got it sounding so PHAT even though they are using LOFI sounds.

    Real Short Review:

    1. The Recession (Intro)

Ok start to the album. Although, could have been better, beat is ok, Jeezy is average.

    2. Welcome Back

Pick up form the opening. Beat bangs, Jeezy isn't bad, and sort of blends in. Which i prefer.

    3. By The Way

Similar to the last track, but better. Like the beat more.

    4. Crazy World

Not a huge fan of the beat, but not bad.

    5. What They Want

Good beat, Jeezy rides it fairly well.

    6. Amazin’

Not bad, not great. Not a huge fan of the hook, beat is decent.

    7. Hustlaz Ambition

Better track, banging beat, like the keys. Hook sounds good too.

    8. Who Dat

    Weak track.

    9. Don’t You Know

    Good beat, good track.

    10. Circulate

Probably my favourite track on the album, dig the beat. Good sample.

    11. Word Play

Not bad, might have been good to include with earlier in the album to break up the other track. Decent.

    12. Vacation

    OK, but not great.

    13. Everything f. Anthony Hamilton & Lil Boosie

Not bad, Lil Boosie is pretty bad though.

    14. Takin’ It There f. Trey Songz

Another strong track, dope beat, and Jeezy rhymes over it competently. Hook is a little weak though.

    15. Don’t Do It

One of my top tracks, good beat and sample.

    16. Put On f. Kanye West

Good, I don't mind Kanye with the autotune.

    17. Get Allot

Not bad, like the feel of it.

    18. My President f. Nas

Good way to end the album, sounds a bit epic, almost inspirational ha.

    Concluding thoughts:

Listening to this was weird. I can't even remember the last album i listened to with adlibs in it.

Personally, i don't care for Jeezy much, so i focused more on the music.

He doesn't really get in the way of a track being good if it has a good beat, so in that regard, i thought he was ok.

Beat wise, some bangers on here, which i'd listen to a few more times.

I felt that it started out fairly weakly, and that the second half was significantly better than the first half.

But as someone said, there is no filler, its track after track, which is good to hear.

    Solid album.

    I'd give it either 6.5 or 7.

^ I respect that. I dont agree with you, but I respect that you are man enough to actually listen to something before just dismissing it without knowing if you really like it or not.

If youre into NY Boom Bap and nothing else though, this album will never be a higher than 7 for you, but if youre into the south, the songs on here really are the best out right now.

I give it a 10, my favorite album of this year. Like somebody mentioned earlier also when I first heard of Jeezy I didnt like him at all, but after I heard "Go Crazy" in 06 I became a fan and after hearin Mr. 17.5 on his second album I went and bought the first and the 2nd cd. I listen to this cd constantly. The only flaw this album has is that Lil Boosie feature.

couldn't agree more, the replay value of this album is bananas. the production throughout the album is top-notch. that's all I care about.

I actually went out and bought this to see what all the fuss was about and gave it a fair few listens

Have to say its kinda boring. The beats are all pretty dope, but sound kinda samey samey, and i know people dont listen to Jeezy for his lyrics, they are pretty bad, but i was expecting that. Thing is he has the same flow and delivery in EVERY song, and the hooks are REALLY gay.

Its not a bad album though, like i said the beats are pretty dope, and when Jeezys riding the beat well, it sounds good.
