I never specially listened to 2pac and i could never understand his genius.
Main reason for this is production.
In MY OPINION production on many of his songs is shitty. Actually it is not shity it is very very monoton from song to song.
I also must admit that i don,t have many of his songs but i have around 30 and most of them are from his BEST OF cd.

i know what you mean i never figured it out but i think what made me love 2Pac was skill to express emotion and sincerity in his lyrics while putting his pain on full display
