Maaaaaad album!!! One of the best hip-hop albums I've heard lately!!! Wouldn't vote for classic, just cuz I don't find it in the same rang as Illmatic or 36 or Muddy Waters or many other classic albums (those fell into my mind first), but still it's pure banger!!

    Voted for Superior!!

Muggs came through (again) on this. Not good as Grandmasters or Legend of the Mask and the Assassin, but still a top 10 album of the year. I would like to hear a few Muggs beats on Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang.

Top 5: Sleeper Cell, 9mm, Hashashins, Shadows Of Hell, Triple Threat
    Grade: (4.3/5) A-

i placed it as a classic, i think it's better then grandmasters. my track is all hail the king. i think muggs needs to do a grandmasters 2 with gza cause his production gets better each album. and why don't cypress hill albums sound like this... i know b-real hasn't sounded right since the IV album but still

B sounded excellent on Lions In The Forest. Definitely better than Grandmasters, but I dont know about Legend, I say its tied because there was a lot of bangers on that album.

Ive been bumping this recently, and i think its dope, but can get a little boring at times. The beats are all dope, but dont really stand out all that much from each other, and the same can be said for Planet Asia. There are some bangers no doubt, maybe i just need to give this more spins

Who the fuck voted classic? How can you call something a classic thats only been out a few fuckin months? People love overrating albums that they like

this is def. one of '08's top albums....best lyrical track, no question 'Thats What it Is'

"the money varies, politicking with the honey berry
lights out in the bathroom, a good game of bloody mary"

and that 'All Hail The King' track is dope....that beat is unreal

i'm so busy that i am pretty behind on music. i just bought and finally really got into pain language.

this album is fucking........the most slept on album of the past 5 yrs (possibly)!
the beats are pretty much flawless. muggs is just unbelievable...he can do no wrong....especially w/ this VS. series.
asia is a beastly maniac shredder on each track. this is an incredible MC display! what a spitter!!!
the features are ALL perfect. they fit so well on the album (i know, so cliche'...but its true).

i voted "superior". the ONLY reason i didnt vote "classic" is b/c to me, 'cuban linx', 'liquid swords', 'ironman' & 'forever' set the bar sooooo high for what a "classic" is, that its virtually unattainable anymore.
this album is as close to perfect as you can get.

minimal skits that are straightforward and help w/ the theme of the album just enough...its just straight spittin' really.

to me, this is what 'grandmasters' wanted to & shoulda been. this is like asia's better version of 'grandmasters'.
(gza admitted that 'grandmasters was recorded in just a few days....and u can tell when compared to 'pain language'.)

2 eye-popping unique verses that stand out to me for a particular reason:

    a. asia's 1st verse on "sleeper cell".....sorta sounds like he's kinda supportive of the radical islamic terrorists, or at the very least that he "understands" them. i'm not judging or complaining...just observing & pointing it out.

    b. gza's verse on "triple threat" = the definition of an MC. this verse is why gza is the GZA. he DESCRIBES how his verses are so VISUAL and CINEMATIC that they're really like MOVIES. fucking.....genius!

all you need to know before buying this....a simple planet asia quote from the album:

    "...MC/DJ is my logo!..."
