700mb AVI.movies working......then not working.
I use torrents and download movies that have beeb reduced to 700mb (on average) so i can burn data disc with cd's - but sometimes - only on the pc the files will work firstly, the whole thing, then after i go back another time it doesnt work. any help would be appriciated.
movies compiled to 700 mb size needs codecs to work. it depends on which decoder was used durning converting from dvd to avi format. it could be DivX or Xvid.
so if you download movie and it works and now its not working you prolly lost some codecs (you uninstall them or install others). try to install divx and xvid codec first - it should help. theres a program in the net "AVI Codec" which shows you which codec you missing to play selected file.......

I found a program once while I was looking for programs to format disc with and it has all the codecs in it so there is no need to try DLing multiple ones. look for the one that has them all. It comes up easy when researching codec.

Google "K-Lite Codec Pack", should contain all necessary codecs needed.

get VLC player... best media player, in terms of codecs.

yeah i have always had VLC. its not a matter of that.
when installing it makes me uninstall Divx - is that right ?
