You need to smoke weed to understand hip hop.

In conclusion, you have no idea.

yes, these elborate typeouts are spawned from a lack of information. Such a lack that you cannot address any of it directly but instead discount the words of the speaker cause your mad that biggie doesn't use lo fi beats like nasal party popper Louis Logic.

man, all this talk just got me stuck back on supreme clientele.
there's a freestyle where ghost comes back from hiatus and is at the Funk Master Flex show and says "i got a new style" and everyones alike, alright, lets hear it
and he starts spitting Nutmeg and blows everyones mind.

    anyone got it?

ok so biggie was a dope MC, that's not something i'm trying to argue, but the album itself, ain't all that hot. at least half of it is bitch tracks, it's a little lengthy and could have easily dropped like 4 tracks off to make it more swift and hard hitting.

now in listening to In My Lifetime i also found the same situation where the bitch tracks seem to outnumber the raw shit and in all honesty my bias towards jay makes it easier to stomach but still, as classic as Ready to Die is, something about it just makes it hard for me to sit all the way through without getting bored.

not expecting much agreement but hoping a decent discussion rolls out
GO KILL YOURSELF AND YOUR COUCH!!

There's you're decent discussion for ya.

    Its just how it goes
I agree. I think people just don't understand the music. His commercial joints on the album are classics. The album has a concept to it. I think they think he's overrated because their favorite underground rapper isn't known.
Only a few years ago Hip Hop purists may have felt superior listening to hard core while their less enlightened companions snacked on commercial rap. As Shaolin research began to point out the overwhelming benefits of raw production, true hip hop enthusiasts started turning back to traditional styles. Wu-Tang in particular, has been shown to myriad beneficial effects, from warding off ignorance and poverty to reducing the risk of incarceration and death.

This album is a such a fucking classic... I respect your opinion but can you please re listen to these joints.

    - Things Done Change
    - Warning
    - Ready to Die (Fuck the world, fuck my mom and my girl) LMAO!!!!
    - The What
    - Juicy
    - Everyday Struggle
    - Big Poppa
    - Respect
    - Unbelievable
    - Suicidal Thoughts (When I die Fuck it I wanna go to hell, couse I am a piece of shit it aint hard to fucking tell).

Biggie was an amazing emcee... his flow and lyrics were so fucking crazy. Biggie is a top 5 rapper anyday. It sucks that he had to go so soon.

Err, you faggits are extremely corny and extremely emotionally involved in what people like and what they don't like.

I'll keep it about what music i do like, and don't like, instead of introducing nonsense.

    Classic Tracks:

    - Gimme The Loot
    - Suicidal Thoughts
    - Unbelievable

    Really Good tracks:

    - Things Done Changed
    - One More Chance

    Good Tracks

    - The What
    - Machine Gun Funk
    - Everyday Struggle
    - Respect
    - Ready To Die

    Mediocre to Bad Tracks:

    - Warning
    - Juicy
    - Me & My Bitch
    - Big Poppa
    - Friend of Mine.

I still like the album, it's like 8.5 or 9/10 for me.

But albums i would consider really good, or classic (musically) are almost flawless.

Ready to Die isn't good enough to compare with other hip hop albums which i consider to be really good or classic.

So thats why i think it is overrated.

lol Look at you breaking it down track by track into whats good and whats not. Thats not how it works. Its a classic album. Youre missing the point of WHY its a classic album. Youre missing the point of hip hop and why people love it. Youre missing the point of why Biggie was LOVED literally loved by people from NY especially.

You do not have any stance to call it overrated, because you dont understand why people loved it so much.

Basically its gone way over your head b.

Yeah, i'd be an idiot to talk at all about music at this point.

    Sure, it is classic.

    Not personally though.

I tend to rate albums depending on how i enjoy them

Yes, that is as a whole, i was just breaking it down to emphasise, that on albums i consider personal classic, almost every track has to be 9/10 AND contribute to the overall vibe of the album.

It's gone way over your head.

When this album dropped, everyone is NY loved Biggie.

When this album dropped everyone wanted to sound like Biggie.

    When this album dropped........

Doesn't make me want to listen to it now.
