nah, its not really like do the right thing....its different, Scorsese just tells a different story than Lee in a different way.

Plus its was made in '69 and do the right thing was what?? '89?

another decent DeNiro flick is Hi,Mom...its weird and total NY indie, but if you love those type of movies you'll like it. Plus DeNiro's character is pretty funny..kinda all over the place.

to each his own. I thought DeNiro was better in This Boys Life as an abusive asshole stepdad.
    Or Deer Hunter, Cape Fear
I was thinking more my favourite films with DeNiro in, not necessarily his best performances.

Otherwise i'd have mean streets and some others up there.

Yeah, i'll take Jackie Brown over a lot of other De Niro flicks in terms of being a better film.

    He's not the standout though.

Cape Fear really demonstrates his versatility though.

    King of Comedy too.

I'd take all over Godfather Pt. 2.

I'm not sure what i'm saying.

Mean Streets is up there for me, if only for combining my favourite Rolling Stones track and one of my favourite scenes.

    I like Mean Streets.

    But.

    I dont know.

I should like it more, but I dont.

    Scorsese. De Niro. Keitel.

Favourite see is where they're in the back of the bar.

I just don't like it that much.

I heard he lived in a cat sanctuary for 8 months to prepare for the role.

Yeah, people over rate it a bit i think.

It's enjoyable to watch, maybe doesn't have the 'depth' of some other De Niro films (even typing depth like that repulses me).

    It is, what it is.

i just love it cuz its vintage....its all those guys when they were just comin up. Its one of those gritty NY indie films. Plus at its time, it was innovative...no one had used a rock/pop soundtrack like that before scorsese.
