help with a unknown track

i been searching on gogle and other sources for a song that came out in the 8o's. its a prince type of song. the singer kinda sounds like prince. I dont think its him but i think its a lady singing.

the begining goes AB ABCD. THEN a saxaphone kicks in followed by the chorus. since i have bad hearing I dont know the heck they are saying.
this is the kind of song they play on yer ld school jam station.
