Aesop Rock - boring, just crazy vocab and people thinks he's smart, WACK
(post Co Flow) El-P - whiney, not clever anymore
alot of 2Pac's stuff
The Game - not that hard a dude, opposite of charismatic
Kanye West
Frukwan
Fat Joe
Immortal Technique - obnoxious attitude, one-sided in his politics
Necro- gimmicky, no substance
Little Brother
Cage - Used to be one of my favorite backpackers, now he's ass
Lloyd Banks - people said he was the MC in G-Unit, I bet Fabolous could eat this guy
Masta Killa - when his style works, its awesome, and thats rare.
Post-Roc Jay-Z - Says nothing interesting, just enjoys being the NY King
last 2 Eminem albums were beyond wack.
Lil Wayne - he's like your goofy backup nigga that says wild shit, not a real rapper, just a Spliff Starr.
MF Doom - boring, punchlines aren't funny, no substance besides talking about being depressed and Subroc dying.
T.I.
Gucci Mane - yeah, I know he sucks, but I live in the South and people really consider him raw
explain how B.O.B. is a hardcore grimey hip hop record as opposed to a pop record ?? you cant do it, because its a pop song, its designed to be catchy, dancable, and to appeal to as many people as possible, thats called pop music...
(1) i never said Miss Jackson sucked, i just said it was a pop song, which it is, in my opinion, but if you believe it to be hardcore dirty grimey hip hop, then we obviously have a different opinion on what is considered hardcore & what is pop...
(2) in my opinion they dont, but then again i have'nt heard much of theirs, but i did'nt like what i heard, sorry...
^^^^^^no problem, my bad.
bring back begongo!!
Mighta fact I am in the wrong thread I thought this was the rappers you think you're better than thread. :O
Whats the point in making a song that isnt catchy? Anybody can do that.
yeah, & anyone can make a catchy song, Souljah Boy, Lil Wayne for instance....
OutKast is many thing, but never pop. Especially not Ms Jackson.
I understand you have an opinion that you don't like OutKast, and that's cool.
But they were never, and will never be pop. Roses (The Love Below) is the closest thing to pop, but more like funk. That's just a wrong opinion. I'm not hating or whatever, I'm just saying, you can't call OutKast pop.
Two songs that are among my favorite hip hop tracks all time:

Soulja Boy never made a catchy song.
Dumbest statement I've EVER heard. Hip Hop has always been more political than rap. One of the greatest parts of Hip Hop is the raw, straight from the liver, political criticizing. Wtf do that got to do with pop?
1. It can be Hip Hop without being "hardcore grimey hip hop". And thank God for that.
2. Read Shizzahs post.
3. All music is made to appeal to as many as possible, without losing the "sound" their looking for. And the "sound" of the track is not your typical Britney-pop-sounding sound. It's totally original and creative.. TRY to find me a pop song that sounds ANYTHING like that.
