in the al its gonna have to be david ortiz. Dude not only has the best stats but is consitantly winning games for them in the 9th inning. I never thought id say it but, david ortiz is your al mvp
yeah you know i might have to agree now, because a broadcaster made a good point the other night that ortiz has been so clutch for the red sox that without him they wouldnt even be in the wild card race. eh, you might have to give it to him just because of that. still, we can't let the line between offensive player of the year and MVP be blurred...its not about stats, its about what player is the most indispensable to their team. for the AL race i'd say its either victor martinez, vlad guerrero, or david ortiz.

the dh thing do not help ortiz at all
reporters HATE voting for dh
i like the vic martinez sentiments - but he is still not known
besides - that team would prolly be hurt just as bad without travis hafner
what a fucked up year - who ever wins it is prolly gonna be by a really slim margin
reminds me of '89 when robin yount beat out ruben sierra
or in '87 when andre dawson won it even tho the cubs finished dead last
all the points have been made
wow, you go way back...i wasnt aware of MVP races until like...'97...lol
