The best stuff Bob Marley ever did was when the group was called the Wailers - before Island records decided to promote Bob, before Peter Tosh left and Bunny Wailer was forced out (because he wouldn't leave Jamaica and tour). So basically, the best Bob Marley is the first 2 Island albums and everything he did with Lee Perry.
By the way, if you listen to all of the stuff he recorded before working with Scratch Perry, he sounds nothing like the Bob Marley everyone knows - Lee Perry taught him how to sing, his voice while they were working together and on everything he did afterwards sounds exactly like Lee Perry.
    Truth.

True, the music he did before Catch A Fire and Burnin' is really good... fx Soul Rebels which is really great... I cant chose 1 fav, like them all, Bob was the best... I hate the greatest hits albums, cant stand them..

By the way, yall heard that Time magazine named Exodus the best, and most important music album in the 20th century? I think that the most important album is Survival... have yall seen the clips from South Africa when Mandela was released ? The people are rocking "Africa Unite" while they are yelling at the military.. that shows how important his music was for some people...
